In May 1966, two observers in Columbus and Hilliard, Ohio, reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon that was initially classified as a meteor. According to the report, the object was observed for 1 to 2 minutes, an unusual duration for a typical meteor. Although the witnesses were unsure of the exact time, they agreed on the description of the phenomenon. The report mentions that a meteor was reported on those nights, leading investigators to conclude the observed object was of astronomical nature. However, the prolonged duration of the sighting raised some doubts, as it did not align with the usual characteristics of a meteor. The lack of physical evidence or photographs did not help confirm the nature of the object, but the available data points to a natural explanation.
