🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian observer reported in 1966 a star-like object that appeared as an extremely bright light in the eastern sky. The phenomenon lasted 20 minutes and did not disappear during observation. It is noted that the star Altair, which was low on the horizon, could have been mistaken for the object. However, the witness did not notice other stars or the moon, suggesting limited visibility conditions. The investigation concluded it could be a multiple observation, possibly related to civilian aircraft near Port Columbus Airport.
The report includes detailed questions about the object, such as its color, shape, movement, and weather conditions. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the testimony describes a solid object with sharp edges that did not change shape or disappear. The lack of additional details, such as angular size or sound, limits the ability to identify it precisely. The report reflects the U.S. Air Force methodology for collecting information on unidentified aerial phenomena.
