🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1966, two witnesses in Lynchburg, Virginia, reported seeing a luminous object in the sky. The object appeared as a bright star-like point, similar to Polaris, and showed no visible exhaust or trail. It was moving toward the southeast, leading investigators to conclude it was the Echo II satellite. The observation lasted about six minutes, enough time for the witnesses to describe the object in detail. The lack of noise and its round shape initially caused confusion, but after verifying the satellite's position on the given date and time, the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon was ruled out.
