Summary

A civilian observer in Chicago, Illinois, reported in 1966 the presence of 12 lights arranged in a horizontal line. These lights blinked consecutively from one end to the other, which caught their attention. The object was at an altitude of between 500 and 800 feet and traveled with a varying course, first south, then east, and finally north. The observation lasted approximately 10 minutes and was made from the ground. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the coordinated blinking raised questions about whether it was a natural or artificial phenomenon. The official report concluded it could be an aircraft, but the possibility of an unidentified phenomenon was not ruled out.
