🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1966, a witness in Columbus, Mississippi, reported observing an unidentified object with a cylindrical shape. The object was approximately one foot in diameter and two feet long, appearing green with a red light on top that rotated and disappeared at regular intervals. It was detected by the Columbus RAPCON radar but faded from view within four minutes. Despite stationary aircraft in the area, none were at the altitude recorded by the radar. The report concluded that there was insufficient data for evaluation, and additional information was requested from the witness, which never arrived. Radar analysis suggested it might have been a false target.
The case was logged under Project 10073 and deemed insufficient for a conclusive assessment. The witness did not provide further details, and no physical evidence or photographs were found. The nature of the object and its behavior remains a mystery, but the report reflects the investigative methodology of the time, combining visual testimonies and radar data.
