Summary

In July 1966, a witness in Centerville, Ohio, observed an object described as "upside-down coffee cups." The object was bright white and made sharp turns. The witness heard an explosion and the object vanished quickly after about 10 minutes of observation. Although an aircraft was considered as a possibility, it did not match the description.

Dr. J. Allen Hynek, an investigator of unidentified aerial phenomena, reviewed the case and noted that the object did not resemble a typical aircraft. He suggested it could have been a toy rocket with a parachute, especially due to its proximity to the Fourth of July. Despite four witnesses, no immediate follow-up was conducted, leading to some controversy in the case evaluation.
