🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1966, a witness in North Hudson, New York, observed an aerial object for approximately 20 minutes. The observer described an object with white and blue lights moving south at high speed. No noise was heard, which caused confusion. At the time, an aerial refueling operation was taking place with a KC-135 refueling a B-52, leading investigators to consider that the aircraft's lights were responsible for the description. Despite the conventional explanation, the official report did not completely rule out the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon.
The U.S. Air Force report details that the witness, a 52-year-old man without technical training, observed the object from his porch. The object made no noise, making it unusual. The white and blue lights, which appeared to move in circular patterns, generated a confusing description. Visibility was excellent, and no physical evidence was found. Although it was concluded that the object was an aircraft refueling, the report also mentions that the witness had no knowledge of aerial operations, which might have contributed to his interpretation of the event.
