🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1966, three teenagers at Presque Isle State Park, Pennsylvania, reported seeing an unidentified flying object land near their car. Two bright lights were observed falling from the sky and landing between two trees. Witnesses described the object as pentagonal and emitting flashing lights. They also claimed to see a formless creature that fled when they honked the horn. Authorities made plaster casts of sand impressions, but concluded they were unrelated to the sighting. A photographer captured images that sparked controversy, while experts and military personnel analyzed data without reaching a definitive conclusion.
The case became more complex with additional sightings in the region and debates over whether they were optical reflections or a real phenomenon. Although the animal sighting was dismissed, the testimonies and images left unanswered questions, making this incident one of the most intriguing UFO cases in history.
