Summary

In August 1966, a witness in the Donnybrook valley, North Dakota, observed an unidentified object for five minutes. The object, described as white, silver, or aluminum, appeared from the southeast, hovered over a reservoir, landed in a field, and then quickly disappeared into the clouds. Although the witness is considered credible, there was no radar confirmation or conclusive physical or photographic evidence. The report could not identify the object as a known phenomenon.

Another account, from a Border Patrol agent, describes a round disc with a dome, approximately 30 feet in diameter. The object had a dark spot in the center surrounded by three triangular-shaped marks. The witness observed the object moving slowly, tilting on its side, and then disappearing into the clouds with a sound of air displacement. At the landing site, triangular depressions and overturned rocks were found, though they were suggested to be caused by animal activity.

Despite the detailed testimonies, the report concludes there was no conclusive evidence of the phenomenon. The officers in charge considered the witnesses credible, but no definitive explanation or identification was found. The case remains unresolved, added to the file of unexplained sightings.
