🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1966, a 40-year-old man in Cincinnati, Ohio, reported a bright object in the sky that looked like a star but was extremely luminous. The object, described as pear-shaped and white-blue, was moving rapidly toward the southeast. Although his wife also saw it and reported it to the FAA, no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found. The report concluded that there was insufficient data for evaluation, though a satellite or weather balloon was mentioned as possible explanations.
The case was reviewed by Project Blue Book, which requested more information from the witness. Although the object disappeared into overcast, its rapid movement and fluctuating brightness were notable. The witness, a structural engineer and private pilot, lacked meteorological experience, limiting his ability to identify the phenomenon. Ultimately, the report reached no definitive conclusion, leaving open the possibility of an unexplained event.
