🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian teenager reported a white, round object moving west to east over Utica, New York in 1966. The sighting occurred at 00:45 and lasted about 30 seconds. Although the initial report suggested it could be an aircraft or a firework reflection, the evaluation was considered insufficient. A more complete report was requested following military protocols, but no physical evidence or additional testimonies were found. The area had heavy air traffic, making precise identification difficult.
The report includes detailed weather data and a description of the observer, an 18-year-old working at a supermarket. Wind conditions at different altitudes and a 10-mile visibility were recorded. Despite investigation efforts, there was no definitive confirmation of the phenomenon. The conclusion pointed to possible reflections from fireworks or aircraft on nearby air routes, but the case remains unresolved.
