🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1966, a U.S. Air Force officer contacted a witness in South Dakota following an unidentified object sighting. The report indicates that the observer saw a bright object moving at high speed, describing it as so luminous that its shape could not be discerned. Two different observers estimated its size as that of a dime and a quarter, respectively. The object emitted a pulsating green light over a red hue and moved in an up-and-down pattern.
The sighting occurred at a considerable altitude, around 45 degrees from the horizon, and the object slowly faded toward the northeast. Two traffic officers, considered highly reliable, confirmed the observation. The Air Force requested additional information via a form, but the report does not provide an explanation for the phenomenon. The responsible officer, Major Hector Quittanilla, thanked the report, yet no clear conclusion about the object's nature was reached.
