🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1966, a witness in Minnesota observed an unidentified object that remained stationary in the sky. The object, described as oval and bright with an orange tint, was seen for approximately 12 minutes. Observers noted that the object expanded vertically, like a balloon inflating, and made no sound. Other independent witnesses, including a family returning from a party, reported a similar object moving northeast. Despite multiple attempts to contact the witnesses, no physical evidence or photographs of the phenomenon were found.
The official report mentions an artificial cloud release from Fort Churchill, Canada, near the time of the sighting, suggesting it could have been an atmospheric experiment. However, witnesses insisted the object had no characteristics of a cloud or aircraft. The responsible officer concluded there was no physical evidence and the report was deemed non-priority. The case remains unsolved, adding another mystery to the long history of UFO sightings in the region.
