🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1966, a family in Kansas City observed a formation of objects that appeared like stars, floating in the air before disappearing quickly. An 18-year-old girl, along with other household members and friends, described an unusual scene that lasted about five minutes. The objects appeared suddenly at about 500 feet above the ground, remained static, and then ascended directly into the sky. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the witnesses' descriptions were consistent and detailed.
The investigation concluded that the objects were likely colorful balloons released during a football game and by a Ford dealer. Weather data indicated that the balloons could have traveled toward the witnesses' house. Although initially mysterious, the case was resolved by linking it to known events, demonstrating how UFO sightings often have earthly explanations.
