🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Kentucky described an object that appeared like a star but showed strange transformations. He observed a light moving slowly, making small clockwise circles and quick darting movements. Most surprisingly, every few minutes, the bright twinkling star changed into a narrow vertical or slightly oblique band of light, three to six times longer than its round shape. At times, it resembled an edge-on swirling nebula.
The object also displayed a faint to moderately bright red fluorescent band above the white band, with brightness inversely proportional. The witness observed this for an hour as the object rose toward the zenith. Although the Air Force requested more details, the detailed account suggests an unusual phenomenon not easily explained by conventional reflections or mirages.
