🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A utility worker in East Dennis, Massachusetts, observed a luminous sphere approximately two feet in diameter. The object, glowing with an intensity similar to a mercury light, illuminated a nearby area. The witness was on an elevated hydraulic lift, about 30 feet above ground, inspecting a power transformer. The object remained stationary at a distance of about 100 yards and a height between 30 and 60 feet. Although photos were taken, no physical evidence was found. Investigators concluded it could be an electrically charged corona, a phenomenon common near high-voltage lines and saltwater areas.
The most plausible explanation points to an atmospheric electrical discharge, given the location and described characteristics. However, the single witness, considered reliable, adds an air of mystery to this case. The sphere vanished suddenly, causing some concern at the time of observation. Although no conclusive evidence was found, the official report closes the case with a natural explanation, though not entirely confirmed.
