Summary

In October 1966, several witnesses in North Babylon, New York, observed three objects in the sky for more than three hours. The objects did not move except in a square pattern and emitted flashes of various colors. One object crossed the sky from the southeast to the northwest, leaving a 25-foot blue trail. Observers reported hearing whistling, humming, and buzzing sounds. Although they compared the objects to stars, these were flashing. The description matched astronomical observations of Saturn, Altair, Deneb, and Vega, which were visible in the western sky at that time. Additionally, the satellite Echo 3 was passing over the area, suggesting a possible natural explanation.

The U.S. Air Force reviewed the report and concluded there was no conclusive evidence of an unexplained phenomenon. However, the witnesses could not precisely identify the objects, and the description of the trail and sounds did not match conventional objects. Although dismissed as a UFO case, the incident remains interesting due to the duration of the observation and the consistency of the testimonies.
