Red and yellow UFO seen in Holtsville, Long Island

Summary

In October 1966, a witness in Holtsville, Long Island, observed a basketball-shaped object with red and yellow colors. While stopped at a stop sign, the witness heard a "swoosh" sound before seeing the object approaching. It was brightly lit and disappeared upward. Although compared to a blimp, investigators concluded it was likely an aircraft, given the heavy air traffic in the area. The observation lasted about 8 minutes and was recorded under the Blue Book Project.
