🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian observer in Jefferson, New York, reported a strange object on October 28, 1966. The object appeared at sunrise and was described as a round, bright, greenish object resembling a hat. It remained stationary for 20 seconds before rapidly disappearing. The witness observed it from the ground using sunglasses, no photographs were taken and no physical evidence was found. Although an aircraft was considered possible, the description did not match any known object.
The object's description was consistent with an aircraft viewed from a particular angle, but its appearance and behavior did not align with expectations. The report concluded it could have been a reflection on the car's windshield, though an aircraft with a radar dome was not ruled out. Without further evidence, the most plausible explanation was an optical phenomenon, but the case remains unsolved.
