🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1966, a witness in Sullivan County, New York, reported seeing lights in the sky moving in a straight line without erratic maneuvers. These lights, in red, green, orange, and white colors, appeared in different quadrants of the sky and disappeared behind hills. The observer, a hotel owner, claimed to have seen them on multiple occasions, prompting him to look for them every night. Despite the investigating officer concluding it was normal air traffic, the testimony reflects a common experience in UFO sightings.
The report details that the observer did not use optical aids and that weather conditions were clear. The officer interviewed the witness at length, who showed some uncertainty about whether to report the incident. Although no physical evidence or photographs were found, the case was included in the Project 1C073 record. The description of the lights and their behavior, though attributed to conventional aircraft, retains an air of mystery typical of many UFO reports from that era.
