🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Cisco, Texas, observed an object that initially appeared like a star but differed in size and color. The object remained stationary in the east for two hours and at one point seemed to approach. Its color shifted from white to reddish. Although no photos or physical evidence were collected, investigators concluded it was an astronomical observation.
The most plausible explanation is that the object was Jupiter, which was rising in the eastern sky at an azimuth of 80 degrees and an elevation of 18 degrees. Although Sirius was also visible, the data point to Jupiter as the cause of the sighting. This case shows how bright planets can be mistaken for unidentified objects.
