Summary

In November 1966, in Austin, Texas, a witness described an object that initially appeared to be an aircraft in distress. The object rose to an altitude of between 20 and 70 degrees above the horizon, and then, at around 70 to 90 degrees, it resembled a spinning disk. What stood out was that the object made no noise, left no debris, and moved steadily toward the northwest. At one point, it seemed to hover, intensified its light, and then continued on its path.
