Summary

In November 1966, in Austin, Texas, a witness described an object that initially appeared to be an aircraft in distress. The object rose to an altitude of between 20 and 70 degrees above the horizon, and then, at around 70 to 90 degrees, it resembled a spinning disk. What stood out was that the object made no noise, left no debris, and moved steadily toward the northwest. At one point, it seemed to hover, intensified its light, and then continued on its path. The official report concluded that the description was consistent with an unidentified aerial phenomenon.

The investigator noted that the witnesses initially thought it was an aircraft but soon realized its behavior didn't match the normal. Despite no physical evidence or photographs, the testimony was considered consistent with a UFO observation. The case was filed under Project 10073, and although the object was not identified, the report highlights the confusion and surprise of the witnesses facing a phenomenon they could not explain with the known.
