🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1966, a 15-year-old boy in Springfield, Ohio, observed an object described as a round, flickering light. The witness reported seeing the object north of the city, near Route 68. Although unsure of the exact time, he estimated the phenomenon lasted several hours. The object, according to his testimony, was brighter than the stars and had a golden color with flickering. At one point, it changed to a white light and disappeared behind a tree, reappearing in another part of the sky. A neighbor's child mentioned it appeared to have steam coming from it.
The witness compared the object to the landing light of a small airplane or a flashlight, though he acknowledged it wasn't exactly the same. The report includes detailed questions about movement, appearance, and weather conditions, and although the young observer didn't use optical instruments, he clearly described the object's form and behavior. The testimony was submitted as part of a standard U.S. Air Force form for investigating unidentified aerial phenomena, and the witness's name was not disclosed without his permission. This case highlights the value of firsthand accounts in UFO research.
