🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1967, a witness in Scarsdale, New York, observed a long and thin object that rapidly ascended. The object, initially resembling a spear-like shape, moved in a smooth arc until it was directly overhead. It then descended toward the surface and disappeared like a shooting star. The sighting lasted approximately two to three minutes and was confirmed by a phone call to the witness's mother, increasing its credibility. The weather conditions were clear, with little wind and excellent visibility.
The object showed no discernible features beyond its shape and intense brightness. No sound was heard during the sighting, and there was no exhaust trail or tail. Despite the lack of additional information, the responsible officer concluded the report was "approximately reliable." No physical evidence or photographs were found, and there was no interception or identification by air services. The report was archived without a clear explanation, leaving the mystery intact.
