🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1967, multiple witnesses in Yardley, New York, reported the sighting of an unidentified flying object (UFO) moving in a southeast direction. The incident occurred around 10:30 PM and was observed by individuals in various locations, including Plattsburgh Air Force Base. The object was described as round, white, and with a tail resembling a shooting star, although one witness compared it to a jet contrail. The object was visible for between 30 seconds and 3 minutes and moved silently. Several military and civilian officials confirmed the sighting, and the possibility of a conventional aircraft was ruled out.
The official investigation found no clear explanation for the phenomenon. Weather data indicated a clear night with cirrus clouds and a light breeze. Although other nearby air bases were contacted, no similar sightings were reported. Witnesses agreed that the object did not display characteristics of known aircraft and moved steadily. The Air Force requested additional information from witnesses for further analysis, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The case was filed without resolution, adding to the long list of unexplained UFO sightings.
