Summary

A 32-year-old man reported seeing an unidentified flying object near Howard Lake, Minnesota, on the early morning of January 25, 1967. While working on his Chevrolet pickup truck, he noticed an extremely bright light to his right, similar to a welder's torch. The object, which landed on the highway, was approximately 75 feet long and 30 feet wide. It emitted a loud whirring noise that the witness could clearly hear from inside his vehicle. Three metal legs extended from the bottom of the object, as if attached to springs, and then an elevator-like structure emerged from which a man in a tight-fitting silver-blue suit and a helmet resembling a fishbowl stepped out. The man walked around the craft before returning and taking off. The incident lasted three to four minutes, and the witness claimed he was not under the influence of alcohol or in poor health, though he wore glasses.

The Air Force responded to the report by stating they lacked sufficient information for a scientific evaluation. The witness was asked to complete an additional form, but his address could not be found, and no one at his workplace could be reached. Despite the detailed description, the case remains unresolved. This document, though fragmented, offers a fascinating glimpse into a UFO encounter from the 1960s, a time when such reports were becoming more common and studied.
