🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1967, a witness in Duluth, Minnesota, reported a circular yellow-orange object in the sky. The object remained stationary but appeared to be approaching the observer. It was seen for five minutes before fading away. The witness used binoculars and described a flashing light on one side of the object. The weather was clear, aiding the observation. The official report concluded the object was Venus, located at a specific astronomical position. However, the witness and his wife saw it on three consecutive days, adding intrigue to the case.
The official Project 10073 record detailed this sighting. Although no photographs or physical evidence were confirmed, the witness mentioned his daughter took black and white photos. The responsible officer considered it could be a light aircraft, but the round shape and color, similar to a setting sun, suggested reflected light. A thermal inversion in the area over the three days was also noted. Although no immediate follow-up occurred, the case remains an example of how civilian observers contributed to UFO records of the time.
