🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1967, a 20-year-old woman in Cushing, Wisconsin, reported observing a bright object in the western sky for about 25 minutes. The object, described as a disc with lights of all colors that blinked and rotated, was seen through high-powered binoculars. The woman mentioned that her aunt had seen something similar the previous night, which motivated her to look for it. Despite calling the local air force base to report the sighting, authorities neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the object. It was suggested that it could have been Venus, which was in the western sky and very bright at that time.
The official Air Force report did not provide a conclusive explanation, though it noted there was no recorded air traffic in the area. The weather conditions were clear, with visible stars, supporting the possibility of an astronomical observation. However, the woman's testimony and the detailed description of the object generated some controversy, as it could not be definitively determined whether it was a natural phenomenon or something more unusual.
