🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian observer in Corpus Christi, Texas, reported seeing a bright red object in the southeast sky on February 23, 1967. The object, described as larger than an airplane and elongated in shape, remained visible for about 30 minutes before suddenly disappearing. Several witnesses, including adults and children, confirmed the sighting. It was noted that the high broken clouds that night could have contributed to the light's sudden disappearance. Astronomers considered the object's brightness comparable to a bright star, but no physical evidence or photographs were found.
The description and behavior of the object did not easily fit into conventional categories, generating some curiosity. Despite the lack of concrete proof, the report was reviewed by various military and scientific units, including the Air Force Department and the University of Colorado. Ultimately, it was concluded that the phenomenon could be natural, such as a reflection on water or piers, though the possibility of an unexplained event was not ruled out.
