🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1967, a witness at Keesler AFB, Mississippi, observed an elongated fireball with an orange-yellowish flame. The object was seen for one to two minutes and was moving westward. According to the report, it left a trail and fragments were reported to be falling. The observation was made from the ground, with no physical evidence or photographs. The report concluded it was likely a re-entry of space debris or a meteor.
Although initially considered a possible UFO event, later analysis pointed to a natural explanation. The lack of correlation with other events and the description of the object as a fireball suggest it was a common astronomical phenomenon, such as a meteor or space debris entering the atmosphere. However, the mysterious nature of the sighting and the detailed description from the observer add intrigue to this case.
