🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1967, a witness in Fultonville, New York, observed an aerial phenomenon that initially appeared as a bright light with vapor. The object, brighter than a star, evolved from a fuzzy green ball into a sharp red-orange disc. It emitted no sound and eventually dissipated into blue vapor. The witness noted color and shape changes, creating confusion about its nature.
The Air Force investigated and concluded the phenomenon was related to a barium cloud released by a space test from Wallops Island. This cloud, created by injecting triethylborane and barium into the atmosphere, produced colors and shapes matching the witness's description. The clouds could stretch hundreds of miles and remain visible for 30 minutes to an hour, explaining the observation duration. The official report clarified it was not a UFO, but an atmospheric experiment.
