🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1967, a woman from Bayshore, Long Island, observed a yellow-orange object in the sky described as a "hamburger." While driving on North Thompson Drive, she noticed a bright object that didn't look like a star. After stopping her car, she confirmed it was moving steadily in a straight line. She called her daughters, who also saw it and compared it to a UFO photographed in Michigan. Using cheap binoculars, they noticed red and white colors. The object, according to her testimony, showed lights that turned off and on, and eventually disappeared without sound.
The Air Force responded to the report assuring that honest observations were taken seriously and offered a plausible explanation: hot air balloons made with plastic bags and straws. Although no physical evidence was found, the detailed and familial account suggests a genuine experience, though inconclusive. The case reflects the difficulty of distinguishing between conventional objects and unexplained phenomena.
