🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1967, a cross-shaped object was observed over Hilo, Hawaii. Witnesses included the tower operator and a weather observer, who reported a clear white light with features such as an unstable structure on top. The craft emitted no sound and disappeared suddenly, as if a switch had been turned off. Observers used binoculars and a theodolite to confirm its presence for seven minutes.
Authorities considered various explanations, from plastic balloons to battery-powered lights suspended. A plasma ionized theory was also mentioned, though no theory was confirmed. This case is part of a series of similar sightings in the Hawaiian islands, which had no clear explanation. Despite the lack of answers, the phenomenon generated interest and debate among researchers at the time.
