🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1967, a 17-year-old in Van Nuys, California, reported seeing an unidentified aerial object in the sky. The witness described a phenomenon appearing as a disc with a vaporous shape and a bright yellow light. The observer noted that the object moved slowly across the sky, paused at certain moments, and then either disappeared or fragmented. Although he tried to describe details like angular size and distance, he couldn't estimate these accurately. The official report concluded that there was insufficient information for a scientific evaluation.
The case includes a detailed questionnaire from the U.S. Air Force's Project 10073, asking the witness to describe every aspect of the sighting. The object left no physical evidence and no photographs were taken, complicating its analysis. The report mentions that the observer saw the object for 5 to 10 minutes and noted unusual behavior, including disappearing at times. Although other witnesses were present, not all confirmed seeing the same phenomenon. The testimony reflects the confusion and the need for more data to understand what actually happened.
