Summary

A witness in Toledo, Ohio, reported a bright star-like object moving rapidly across the sky. The observer, using a telescope, noticed the object moving approximately three times faster than the Moon. While watching, he saw multiple lights coming from the object, behaving like sparks from a Roman candle. These lights appeared for a few seconds and then disappeared, leaving only a white and an orange light. The witness's wife also saw them with the naked eye, though she couldn't keep the object in the telescope. The observer described in detail what he saw and painted a colorful illustration to document the event.

The witness tried to get a neighbor to be a witness and later called the Toledo Express Airport control tower, who advised him to write to the Air Force base. The report includes written notes and a rough sketch of the object. Another neighbor confirmed seeing something similar from a different angle. The sky was clear throughout the observation, and no sound was heard. The witness, a 26-year-old commercial artist, assured that he described and drew as accurately as possible what he saw, waiting until his vacation to write the full report.
