UFO with red and green lights in Colorado Springs

Summary

A declassified report from 1967 describes a UFO sighting in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Two witnesses reported seeing an object with a red light on one side, a green light on the other, and an unidentified object connecting the two. A second bright object, similar to a flare, separated from the first and left a trail. The object with the lights moved south, then changed direction to the east and upward, disappearing in about six seconds. The other object simply faded away. The observation lasted approximately two minutes and thirty seconds. Although military authorities found no nighttime operations in the area that could explain the phenomenon, the witnesses could not identify the object with certainty.
