🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1967, two witnesses in Salt Lake City observed a bright object in the night sky. They described a white light so intense it outshone the brightest stars. The object moved erratically, slowing and speeding up without a clear pattern, and made no sound. It remained visible for four to seven minutes, but no photographs were taken and no physical evidence was found. The Air Force concluded it could have been an aircraft with landing lights on, though flight records from the time had already been destroyed, leaving the sighting unverified.
The case highlights the challenges of identifying aerial phenomena without additional data, especially when witnesses lack experience in aerial observation. Despite a detailed description, the lack of concrete evidence and lost flight records left the observation without a definitive explanation.
