🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Wakarusa, Indiana, reported an object in the sky that he described as a satellite. The sighting occurred on September 7, 1967, at 9:23 AM, and lasted about 20 minutes. The observer stated that the object moved slower than the ECHO 1 and 2 satellites and resembled a star. The official conclusion of the report was that the object was a satellite, specifically one of the Pageos series orbiting Earth. Although the observer did not identify the satellite precisely, the data matched the position and trajectory of one of these satellites at that time.
The observation was made visually from the ground, with no physical evidence or photographs. The report concluded there were no signs of an unidentified phenomenon, as the object fit within the expected behavior of a satellite in orbit. These types of reports were common at the time, when satellite launches were frequent and many civilians were unfamiliar with their appearance in the sky.
