🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1967, a witness in Columbia Falls, Montana reported an unidentified flying object at an altitude of around 40,000 feet. The object was moving east to west and had a flashing light, as well as a white haze-like smoke beneath it. The observer saw it for four minutes before it disappeared east of the mountains. The Flathead County Airport area was mentioned as the approximate location of the sighting.
The report reached the U.S. Air Force, but no formal investigation was recorded. Several officers, including Captain Harry A. Kinnison, responded that they had no knowledge of the case or had not been assigned to take action. The 716th Radar Squadron was notified, but no results were provided. Eventually, the case was closed without a clear resolution, leaving this sighting as one of the many unexplained UFO reports in history.
