🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1967, an Air Force officer at Duluth AFB, Minnesota, reported the sighting of an unidentified object. The object appeared bright and larger than a star, with a round shape that changed color from red to white. The witness described it as the size of a baseball at arm's length, though later compared its size to one-eighth of a full moon. The observation lasted about an hour and a half, and several observers confirmed the presence of the object. Despite the detailed description, there was no physical evidence or photographs to support the sighting.
The report details that the object moved slowly and varied its position in the sky, without showing a fixed course. Observers included 2nd Lt. Eric Olson and SSGT Kickerbucker, along with five other air police. Weather conditions were clear, and there was no unusual aerial activity in the area. Although other possibilities, such as flares or balloons, were considered, no satisfactory explanation was found. The report concludes that the object could not be identified with certainty and was filed without further action.
