Summary

An FAA radar in Cleveland detected an unidentified object on November 11, 1967. The object appeared about 20 to 25 nautical miles north of Erie, Ohio, and was moving at approximately 50 knots. The air traffic controller estimated the object must have been at a high altitude due to the lack of radar coverage in that area. The object was lost about 10 miles northwest of Buffalo, New York. Despite efforts, the object could not be identified. The possibility of a weather balloon was considered, but no agency was found to have launched one in that area. The analysis suggested the object might have been a balloon, although it was not confirmed.
