In March 1960, a Swedish photographer named Esse Jansson captured images of two unidentified flying objects. These sightings occurred in the early morning of March 6, while Jansson was trying to photograph a known satellite called 1960 Alpha. The images not only showed the two UFOs but also captured a third luminous object. Observers, including an expert from the Saltsjöbaden observatory, considered it could be an unknown satellite, ruling out the possibility of it being a shooting star or meteor.
The mystery deepened when another witness, Thorsten Haekansson, reported seeing the satellite 1960 Alpha with binoculars, but observed unusual behavior: the object moved horizontally and then abruptly descended. Despite efforts to analyze the sightings, it was not possible to determine whether it was an optical illusion or a real phenomenon. These events generated interest in the Swedish press, with reports in Dagens Nyheter, and contributed to the growing curiosity about UFOs at the time.
