🇺🇸 CIA
In 1953, the CIA compiled reports on unidentified flying objects sighted across the Mediterranean. Sightings were recorded in Spain, Greece, and French Morocco, with witnesses describing luminous, spherical, rocket-shaped, or silent-moving objects. In Madrid, a red-hued circular object was seen moving northwest, while in Drama, Greece, a stationary object remained in the sky for several minutes. In Casablanca, witnesses reported a loud noise followed by a colorful, fast-moving object. These reports, though not officially evaluated, reflect the era's concern over unexplained aerial phenomena.
The testimonies include detailed descriptions and precise dates, suggesting the sightings were taken seriously. Despite some repeated entries or OCR errors, such as mentioning Casablanca in a Greek context, the official CIA documentation indicates these sightings were considered noteworthy. At the time, flying saucers were a topic of public and military interest, and these cases were no exception. The CIA gathered information from local newspapers and civilian witnesses, adding a human touch to these historical records.
