🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1967, an 19-year-old student in Corvallis, Oregon, observed a yellow fireball the size of a small plane. The object appeared near the ground, moved westward, and disappeared over the horizon after blinking several times. Prevailing winds suggested it could have been a hot air balloon.
The Air Force concluded the sighting was consistent with a hot air balloon, possibly built as a prank or experiment. It was noted that a recent article on how to construct such devices might have inspired the action. Although no photos or physical evidence were taken, the report was filed without further conclusions.
