In January 1968, two witnesses in Westport, Connecticut, reported a sky phenomenon consisting of multiple red and white blinking lights that appeared to rotate in a circular pattern. The object made no noise and remained visible for about four minutes and twenty seconds. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the observers compared it to an airplane flying in circles. The description was consistent with a conventional aircraft, leading to the conclusion that it could have been a regular plane. However, the lack of sound and the precise circular motion created some uncertainty.
The report, though brief, highlights the importance of civilian testimonies in the study of unidentified aerial phenomena. Despite the absence of a precise trajectory or images, the collected data allow one to imagine a mysterious aerial scene that, at least in appearance, didn't fit the conventional. This case, like many others, shows how the ordinary can take on an air of the unusual when presented unexpectedly.
