In February 1968, a witness in Cincinnati, Ohio, reported seeing a bright object in the sky that resembled a rocket or hot air balloon. She described the object as emitting fire at the bottom and having an orange, glowing appearance. The observation lasted about five minutes, and the object moved vertically. Initially thought to be a meteor, further investigation revealed it was a plastic hot air balloon. The witness's husband contacted authorities to inform them that several boys had launched the balloon in the area. This case is an example of how everyday objects can be misinterpreted as unidentified aerial phenomena.
