UFO over Groveton, Missouri in 1968

Summary

An unidentified object was sighted in Groveton, Missouri, in February 1968. A witness, awakened by his cows, saw a glowing object approximately 100 feet in diameter with concave sides. It emitted a yellow-green light and a pulsating sound similar to a wire whirled at high speed. The cows approached the object before running into the barn. The object then rapidly moved southwest. Authorities checked with various aviation agencies but found no conventional explanation.

The official investigation concluded the phenomenon was unidentified. The witness, nearsighted and without glasses, described details such as seven windows on the object and silent movement. Although turbine helicopters were considered, no aerial activity was recorded in the area. The case remains an unresolved mystery in UFO history.
