🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1966, several witnesses in Miami, Florida, reported seeing luminous objects in the sky resembling fireballs or candles. These objects appeared in the same position on the horizon and extinguished with sparks. The Air Force suggested they might have been hot air balloons made from gas bags, commonly used at university events. These balloons can stay airborne for up to fifteen minutes, with a very bright flame below and the upper balloon moving with the wind.
Witnesses observed the objects moving straight or curving depending on the weather, and sometimes dropping burning debris before disappearing. Although initially thought to be an unexplained phenomenon, the earthly explanation seems plausible and is supported by the detailed description of the events. This case reflects how many UFO sightings can have a natural cause, even if they seem supernatural at first glance.
