🇺🇸 CIA
In September 1997, a CIA memo was released regarding a UFO incident from September 20, 1957. According to the report, an unidentified object was detected by U.S. Air Force radar following a relatively straight path from Long Island toward the vicinity of Buffalo. The object was reportedly moving at high speed and altitude, causing radar interference. The Air Force investigated the event but did not reach a definitive conclusion, though they ruled out normal aviation activity or natural phenomena.
The CIA reviewed the case and concluded there was no evidence of direct Soviet involvement, although they did not rule out the possibility of a long-range device being involved. However, they considered it unlikely that the Soviet Union would conduct a reconnaissance mission under such conditions. The report also noted there were no clear motivations for the Soviets to carry out such an operation, and the risk of compromising a mission would be too high. Despite all this, the mystery of the unidentified object remains unsolved.
