In 1968, a witness reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon near San Luis Obispo, California. They observed a V-shaped pattern of yellow lights similar to those of an airplane, but these did not blink. The sighting lasted five minutes and no noise was heard due to a nearby jet. One observer ruled out a hot air balloon, noting they had seen garment bag balloons before. The report suggested it could be an aerial advertiser or a regular aircraft in the area. Winds were light, not affecting visibility. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence found, the report concluded the phenomenon was likely a terrestrial object.
